What is the Green Heat Module?
The Green Heat Module offers you the ultimate retro-fit solution to achieve low carbon heat with the minimum of fuss. Everything you need is included in the module so that we can arrive on site, hook up to your existing heating distribution system and fire you up! Complete, turnkey, 'in the box' thinking from Wood Energy - we have done the thinking so you don't have to!
If you've got a carbon-saving target or want to reduce your dependency on heating from fossil fuels - whether for cost or fuel security reasons, there's something new that you need to know!
The UK government has launched the Renewable Heat Incentive
(RHI) to accelerate the deployment of a number of technologies
including biomass boilers. The RHI is a fixed, index-linked income
paid to you for every unit of heat you generate from renewable
sources over a 20 year period, protected
and guaranteed by primary legislation.
Heat generated by the biomass boiler also means money off your
existing heating bill, whether you're completely replacing gas, oil
or LPG or running biomass and fossil-fuel boilers together.
The RHI scheme is open from summer 2011 and is administered by
Ofgem. It is aimed at all non-domestic applications and you will be
paid quarterly by BACS for every kilowatt hour of heat produced by
your new biomass boiler based on the meter readings you submit.

The level of tariff is set from the date of registration but will
be decreased as more organisations sign up, so to maximise the
level of 20 year fixed tariff available to your project, you should
act now.
Renewable heat is also "zero rated" under the Carbon Reduction
Commitment (CRC) and so can be counted as reducing carbon
consumption in compliance with the CRC.
The Green Heat Module range covers the following sizes of
boilers with footprints ranging from the
equivalent of three to five parking spaces (PS):
Where the solution comprises two modules, these can be positioned adjacent to each other or stacked on top of each other as indicated below:

Pre-fabricated plant room includes:
- Biomass boiler (& accumulator tank if above 200kW)
- Heating circuit to accumulator tank
- Hydraulic interface to clients heating main
- Heat detection
- Frost protection heating
- On approach and interior lighting
- Ventilation
- Flue
- RHI compliant heat meter

Pre-fabricated fuel store includes:
- Pellet extract auger
- Fill & vent pipes
- Earthing points for fuel tanker
- Level observation windows
- Explosion relief panels
Optional features:
- Interface to clients heating circuit (site dependent), without the need to shut down the circuit (hot taps)
- Concrete base (optional) or ability to locate on a tarmac surface such as a car park
- Civil works to connect into existing plant room including waterproofing
